I ran into this error which is repeating a lot in my Lync deployment.

My deployment have a Domain and a Child domain, all servers and user accounts are hosted on the child domain, and nothing on the Parent, and the error keep repeating that Replication failed with the “Parent Domain”.

So it’s not a big issue if you don’t host any accounts on this domain, but it’s annoying especially if you like me like to see you event viewer white without errors or warnings.

So to fix this error, you have to run a Lync PowerShell command line.

First run the following command line to check which Domains are configured for user replications

>> Get-CSUserReplicatorConfiguration

And check the value of ADDomainNamingContextlist to see which domains are listed.

You can remove the domain causing the problem or add only one domain you want to be checked by using:

>> Set-CsUserReplicatorConfiguration -Identity global –ADDomainNamingContextList @{add=”dc=lyncdude, dc=local”}

>> Set-CsUserReplicatorConfiguration -Identity global –ADDomainNamingContextList @{remove=”dc=lyncdude, dc=local”}

And that what I did, I added only the domain that should be checked for users.

And that’s all you need to do 🙂
